About Me:
I am 44 y.o. currently on medical leave from IU where I was an Associate Instructor and working on my Ph.D. in Applied Health Behavior. My M.S. degree is in Therapeutic Recreation from IU and my B.S. degree in Psychology and Social Work is from the University of Indianapolis.
I am the 5th of 6 children. My parents were born and raised in Italy. Most of my relatives live on the East Coast, (mostly NY, RI, and CI). I love participating in sports and learning more about technology. I enjoy hanging out w/ family and friends.
Tell us your story…
While on my way home to visit my father, I was in a rear end collision at a red light. The girl had no intention of stopping since she did not see me, the truck in front of me or the red light. I suffered a concussion and whiplash. My Dad died w/in the year and then 9 months later, I went back home for my birthday. My niece wanted to cheer me up so she drove me to the Mall where a lady did not yield for her light and my niece was going straight on a green light. Even with a seatbelt on and in my Mom's Navigator (we were allowed to take for the 1st time alone and that saved my life as well) I fractured my pelvis, concussion, whiplash, scapular wing, bruised ribs, bladder problems, and various nerve damage in head, arms and legs. Only the concussion, whiplash and pelvic fracture was confirmed at the ER. A year after the initial MVA I was getting severe headaches and fluid on my brain was found, which was drained twice. All the other problems have been found out in Indy by various rehab. and Dr's over the last few years. The worse part of everything is that many Drs. and therapists, mostly in Kokomo, said I was pyschotic and a malingerer when in fact the Dr's and therapist's in Indy found nerve root damage along with other problems with my vision.
