My mom had a stroke in May of 2008. She fell and broke her hip and had a hip replacement. She suffers from left side paralysis. When she left RHI, she had made great progress, however she could not stand/walk even with max assistance. It's been 11 months and she is just starting to walk w/a hemi walker with assistance (she can take the steps and move her walker, but she needs support for balance). She wears a leg brace so her knee doesn't buckle. She has gotten a lot of movement back in her left leg, but not in her arm. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions to help her relearn to walk? She seems to be making progress...but I'm just wondering how much more she will make.
